Being stared at - Does it make you uncomfortable?
based on the latest incident in Japan, some very stupid Greek people stare at my mother and say "avoid her! maybe she has radiation!" ... they most probably say it as a joke but its the worst kind of sense of humor.

Maeku - She should just shout back, "That's right, mutha-f*ckas! Don't make me go Gojira on yo asses!"

Seriously, it may be a joke, but man that's rude.

I know...but what do you expect from people who have often told her: "no wonder you wear glasses. you read too much" (because she is always rading on th bus, train etc)

or "you chinese have made us lose our jobs or " you chinese carry garbage" (because she was holding a bag with clothes to be donated at the local charity house"

come to think of it..many Greeks are racists...

i really love commuting with my mother cause i can still see the amazement on people;s eys when they see us together and whn they finally ralize we are related...

Huh... I just remembered an incident that happened to me (as a lesson to stop priding that nobody give ME racists comments):

was shopping at a local sumermarket near my bf's house. Wanted meat for snitzel (tonkatsu) so i was checking the meat section. they didnt have rady cut pieces so i was ready to leave (couldnt bother wait have someone cut the meat). so this woman comes and says "what can I get you?" I said, "Well tin slices of pork meat cause i d like to make snitzel" so sh starts cutting huge pieces and I am like "no-no thats not what I wanted, I see that it may be trouble but id like it more thin"

WHAT DO YOU THINK HER REPLY WAS?

"well THATS how you use the meat to make snitzel. aparently you want to make some kind of CHINESE thing"

I was so shocked and didnt react for a few moments but then I made a scene <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blush' /> and asked for her Supervisor. Nothing happened. I felt like a fool.

The next day I visited the place with my boyfriend. (pathetic I know but I seriously could imagine myself killing her)..

She was all sweet and gentle to him and to m she was like :get in line or sth...

We had another "nice" chat with me being red with anger and my bf asking for the supervisor again..again nothing happened...

So i just stop shopping from that place and spread the word around on that place...

pff...i got upset just but thinking about the incident...and that was over a month ago

Spent a little time in Chiba this past week, staying at the sister-in-law's. Been a while since I've been stared at that much haha. Wasn't too bad, though. No gaping or gawking, just a lot of second glances.

Though it was pretty funny - she teaches English at a daycare type place to 3-4 year olds. I visited the classroom to be the token gaijin. I wasn't sure how the kids would react, but they were so goddamn adorable. They all kept peeking around the door to wave. One little girl would just not stop talking to me about anything and everything - her ribbon, her buttons on her bag, her friends, etc. I wanted to take them all home in my suitcase.
