If your life was a compilation of various songs to represent your life, which songs would be on it? (try to go with a maximum of 10... edit: maximum is now 20)
for me i would have:
Black Glasses by Angela Aki, to describe my black glasses and shyness
ã¦ãŒã¿ã€œæ‹å•“ å五ã®å›ã¸ã€œ (a letter, dear 15 year old you) also by angela aki, because its a sad song, but its hopeful and encompasses a lot of hard to deal with stuff people go through
Anthems For a Seventeen-Year-Old Girl by Broken Social, because it reminds me of growing up
Hopeless by KT Tunstall, because i really feel trapped and hopeless a lot
Do You Believe In Magic by The Loving Spoonfuls, because it's really up beat and it reminds me of the time when i though really anything could happen
Sleep by Meiko, because I am usually in desperate need of some =__=;;
Such Great Heights by Iron and Wine (thanks for showing me this one ninjew!) becuase its one of those perfectly romantic songs that reminds me of being in love
Forever Young by Alphaville because I want to be young forever
With a Little Help From My Friends by The Beatles because we all need friends
and lastly L'amour ne dure pas toujours by Feist, because like the title says, love doesn't last forever
how about everyone else? Which songs represent your life?

Woo, okay this is going to take me a while. Some just represent my life in ways that only I would understand, not because of the songs actual content.
Sweet Jane-Velvet Underground
This is my favorite song in the world. It reminds me of being happy. In fact, I relate the song so much to being happy that I refuse to listen to it when I'm sad, so it doesn't turn into a sad song. Some of the lyrics are nonsense lyrics, but they're very relevant to my life in a way that I don't really feel comfortable explaining here (nothing dirty, just a little personal haha)
Time to Pretend-MGMT
It reminds me of my friends, and just fucking around with them. Smoking on sunny afternoons, laughing with them.
Your Ex Lover is Dead-Stars
This song is basically connected to one of my dearest memories with my three best friends. Also, it reminds me of the winters in my life.
You Don't Know Me (ft. Regina Spektor)-Ben Folds
Once again, it is just connected to a memory. Reminds me of sitting on my porch on blankets and lighting incense with my best friend Jake on fall nights while having deep discussions. I seriously love that kid so much, it's crazy.
Woods-Bon Iver
This song basically could sort of represent the sad portions of my life. It somehow conveys the way I feel when I'm lonely...I don't think it's necessarily the lyrics but just the music. I could probably make myself cry listening to this.
To the Dogs or Whoever-Josh Ritter
Even though this creepy kid who basically had this weird mega crush on me showed me this, the actual song reminds me of crushing on someone hard.
We're Going to Be Friends-The White Stripes
Reminds me of fall, going back to school, and my childhood. Cute song :]
Substitute-The Who
Reminds me of riding in a convertible on sunny days with my dad.
American Woman-The Guess Who
I don't know, sort of captures the vibe of when I'm feeling rebellious.
That was 9, but I can't think of others currently.

Oh, also
Feeling This by Blink182. Reminds me of my first love, I used to listen to Blink182 a lot with him, haha. The lyrics sort of match up in a way as well.

Head Sha La, that Dragon Ball song - I used to sing it at shoogakko in Sapporo, in the bath with my brother and it also reminds me of going to karaoke while I was living in Tokyo.
The Sad Cafe by the Eagles and Riders on the Storm by the Doors because that's the stuff my mum and uncles and aunts used to get drunk and listen to when I was a kid and me and my cousins would do "concerts" of those kind of songs with tennis rackets for guitars.
Anything off "Bad" by Michael Jackson, especially "The Way You Make Me Feel" and also anything by Jennifer Warnes off "Famous Blue Raincoat," her album of Leonard Cohen songs because I used to lie on my stomach for hours in front of the stereo singing along while reading the lyrics leaflet in the front of the CD cover.
"Jolene" by Dolly Parton for the same reason (my parents had eclectic taste) and because I always loved the passion and pain in her voice when she was singing that song though I am by no means a country fan.
Anything by Bob Dylan and Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" because that's what was on in the evenings when I got home from school and mum was drinking G and T and cooking dinner.
"Shotgun Blues" or "Pretty Tied Up" or "Get in the Ring" off Use Your Illusion 2 because it was the first album I owned.
For a while really weird metal like Cannibal Corpse because that's what my best friend's brother used to listen to and we thought he was cool.
Anything off "Inutero," "Bleach" and "Nevermind" by Nirvana and also the compilation album "Kickin'" I think number 3, because they were what I was listening to when I started to get that exciting feeling that I really could do whatever the fuck I wanted and that idea was still fresh and exciting. I remember my cousin getting "Nevermind" one Christmas and we went and listened to it in the car so we didn't have to hang out with the olds.
Anything off "Meat is Murder" by the Smiths because my sister listened to it and I thought she was cool.
Anything off "Ten" and "Vs." by Pearl Jam, the Stone Temple Pilots songs "Meat Plow" and "Big Empty" and the Meat Puppets album "Too High to Die" especially "Severed Goddess Hand" and all the Red Hot Chili Peppers albums because that's what I listened to when I started riding around in cars with boys.
"Insane in the Membrane" because that's the song we'd listen to when taking out first bucket of the night.
"The End" by the Doors and because that's what I listened to every night to fall asleep.
"Soul to Squeeze" by the Red Hots and the Grace album by Jeff Buckley because that's what I used to listen to with my first boyfriend, or when I was grounded, alone or while we talked on the phone.
"Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits and all the Bjork albums because I used to listen to them on acid.
Anything off "Baduizm," anything by DJ Krush and Vadim and drum and bass acts like Kemistry and Storm because it's what I was listening to with someone I spent 6 years with and still have a soft spot the size of Texas for.
English rock like "Chelsea Dagger" by the Fratellis and also the RHCPs album "Californication" because that's what F and I listened to when we were falling in love.
"No Scrubs" and "Touch Me" because they remind me of karaoke nights in Tokyo last year.
Mostly albums not songs but that's just how it is...

Sure, then we can lie in bed together wearing headphones and listen to "The End" and simultaneously....fall asleep.
