Ahahaha...more games to add to your renter's insurance hapacheese? And is that Toys R Us sale still going on?
Nope, sorry - looks like it ended last week <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> Should have posted something about it here...
Oh it's just as well...I've got a backlog of games to play too (and just picked up Muramasa for Wii). <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
Ah...there's nothing like watching the credits after an awesome game and seeing a familiar name. Great job hapacheese! <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
For you, pik!
Yay! Thank you hapacheese! <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Ooooh it's time to go shopping...
Hey DKD - if you have a PS3 or X360 (or a good enough PC), try picking up Dragon Age. It borrows *heavily* from the Song of Ice and Fire series and is done by Bioware, so it's pretty good. It's ugly as sin and, in the usual Bioware fashion, is a bit rough around the edges, but overall, I'm enjoying it. Just thought you should know <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
My laptop could barely run the character generator <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> Alas, my need for digital gay elf sex will have to be satisfied elsewhere.
Haha, poor DKD. The public finally gets to see your true fantasies realized, but you are stuck in the shadows, unable to partake.

(But in all seriousness, they even refer to the knights as "ser" in the game. And there's the Grey Wardens, who are essentially the Night Watch. The list of similarities goes on and on.)
FF13 is one long movie so far.. ugh.

Apparently players are finally granted freedom in mythical chapter 11, or maybe it's an internet joke/urban myth <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> Not sure if I have enough time/patience to get there, let alone back on the rail again to the ending haha.
Japanese hockey, Asian sports and whatnot:

I've always wanted to like Final Fantasy so much, but I just can't. The banal philosophy, poor storytelling, and crappy gameplay are just too much, but I always feel like I'm missing out on something awesome.
Also I will fight any one of you who buys Dante's Inerno, no joke. It's like the developers opened up a book or two on the subject, but only so they could rape them to death.
man with street fighter iv being better than head, that means super street fighter iv is gonna be better than sex.

look at that. and tell me that's not fucking incredible.
number9 - That's what I was afraid of. They showed a bunch of the maps online and they were all straight lines. Like the player's only job is to go from point A to point B and mash on the X button along the way. I should play it just for professional purposes, but man, it's going to be rough playing that after Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, and Bioshock 2 (which I consider to be an RPG).

dkd - Even if I get it for a super discount price just for the lulz? I played the demo, and holy crap, it's kinda bad. But it makes me want to play it and MST3K it...
It's a Japanese game, so you mash on the O button, heh <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />
Japanese hockey, Asian sports and whatnot:

Hah! I always forget about that <img src='<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

and Bioshock 2 (which I consider to be an RPG).

There are ability upgrades that you, as the player, choose. There are stat upgrades (tonics), ability upgrades (plasmids), weapon upgrades (self-explanatory), etc. You can choose what type of class you want to play as by building your character in a specific manner, etc. Instead of talking to townspeople, you listen to audio files.

Replace the gun with a sword and how is the game that different from Oblivion?
Dead space is exactly like bioshock without the first person view. In deadspace you upgrade your weapons, armor, buy and sell things from a store, and listen to audio diaries just like in bioshock. But it's not RPG.

RPGs have numerical level ups from experience points you gain by doing quests or killing enemies. Bioshock does not have that system.
Dead Space *is* an RPG. It's a survival horror RPG.

Zelda does not have levels and is considered an RPG. FFX did not have a leveling up system, either (it was replaced with the sphere grid). And from what I've heard, neither does FFXIII.

The notion of what makes and RPG in the traditional sense is now antiquated. Most games have light RPG elements, but many games out there simply change the setting and the combat system and try to call themselves something completely different.

Ryu Ga Gotoku/Yakuza, for example, *is* an RPG. Just replace Dragon Quest's turn-based random encounter system with the button mashing fights in Yakuza, and they're the exact same game, system-wise.
