PS3
Haven't played it yet, actually. I really enjoyed the first, but it sounds like Bioshock 2 doesn't have a lot of the elements that made the first one great. I'll likely play it in the near future, though.

Glad there's a lot of talk about Uncharted because I just finished the first one recently for the sole reason of wanting to start playing the sequel. Loved it up until *SPOILER* it became a survival horror game close to the end since the firefights weren't its strong points, but still excited to start up Uncharted 2. Also playing Borderlands on PS3 which is very addicting, and just finished Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360. Didn't like the single player campaign nearly as much as the first Modern Warfare.

Uncharted 2 addresses a lot of the issues that were in Uncharted 1... except for your one complaint. It's still quite possibly the best game of last year, so I'd still highly recommend it. It's better in just about every other respect.

I got to about level 44 on Borderlands, but my Xbox and PS3 (along with Borderlands) got stolen. Alas. Good game to kill time with, but not incredibly deep.

Still haven't gotten around to MW2 - I'm currently wading through Mass Effect 2, then will likely move onto some God of War <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' /> Probably should play through GoW2 on the Collection before doing GoW3, though.

Still haven't had a chance to play Uncharted 2 yet, but definitely looking forward to it as I remember all the GOTY awards it got. So hapacheese, were you involved in the Uncharted series somehow based on some of the earlier comments in this thread? I work in the industry but end up playing so many long Japanese RPGs for work that I rarely have time to play any games just for fun anymore. Guess that's the bad thing about making something you enjoy into a full-time job - it all starts blending together as work and not so much a hobby anymore.

after playing fallout 3 which i think is the best game i ever played, i think games are really crap and generic now. don't care for anything now.

the only game im really excited for in the near future is fallout new vegas. i hope it's like 500 hours long.

have u guys been? i find it interesting that more and more japanese culture is being exposed to the mainstream. i was very moved of what irem did. it brought something to the american masses that you would not typically c unless u were in japan. it brought so much nostalgia to me and reminds me of things i have forgotten as a child.

Getting the 'ladies man' trophy in God of War 3 was...awkward.

Really? I thought it was very realistically done, at least when compared to my own personal experiences.

(How've you been, anyway???)

Ahahaha...and I kept pressing the wrong buttons like in my own personal experiences. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

(And lately, I've been fat. Glad you're doing well though, Hapacheese!)

Speaking of awkward, Heavy Rain was full of those moments. *Mild Spoilers* First playing as a girl and having to strip, then playing as a guy making out with that same girl and having to determine which piece of her clothing you're going to remove next.

Haha, seriously. There's something to be said about having a consistent narrative perspective in a story-oriented game.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!! YLOD. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> I feel so...empty.

Oh no! Did you call customer service?

Heh...uh...well, I actually ran out to buy a new one the next day. (My name is Pik. And I'm a PS3 addict.) So I was PS3-less for about twenty hours. Twenty looooong hours...

It was mostly my fault it went YLOD anyway. The game I've been playing has so many freeze/crash issues, yet I continue to play it several hours a day.

I will most likely have the old one repaired though! Heh...there's a game disc stuck in it...lol.

A game that crashes and whatnot shouldn't cause a hardware failure. If it does, that's a HUGE issue. I wouldn't blame yourself - the PS3 probably just decided to crap out for whatever random reason.

i still think I'm much to blame for letting the console overheat like that...after all, we were on it for most of the day (and night). Oh well. I do like the slim!

Don't know what the yellow light of death is, but my PS3 just got the red screen of death. I've checked forums but doesn't seem like any kind of good solution to the problem exists. I'd expect this of Microsoft, but not Sony - my original PS2 is still going strong, never had any problems. Totally bummed...

Actually, Sony has had some issues in the past, too. PS1s were notorious for the laser alignment getting out of whack (people would have to play their PlayStations with it positioned sideways or upside down), and early PS2s had some reliability issues. The most consistent company is actually Nintendo. Microsoft's original Xbox was pretty sturdily made, but I think they rushed the X360 out to market to beat the PS3 and had to sacrifice some QA to do it. The failure rate on the PS3, however, is actually right in line with most consumer electronics, so they did a decent job with the QA (price and size of the machine are a different issue all together haha)

Oh Retishi...I do hope your problem is resolved soon.

And true Hapacheese, my Wii has been reliable...but then, I haven't played anything on it in months. Where are all the games??! (If you work for Nintendo, it's up in Redmond...which isn't too far from where I am...ever consider it? <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Wii needs more games like MadWorld!)
Reply
Nintendo would never make a game like MadWorld. It isn't in their company heritage. And I thought briefly about working for Nintendo, but I really don't want to leave the Bay Area <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

As for Wii games, I heard Kirby's Epic Yarn is supposed to be really good. I saw it at E3 and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Didn't get a chance to play it, but I was enthralled by the art style.
