Damn!

I guess it's true this time, huh?

I can only speak for myself, but real life just took up more of my time, and it seems like what active members there were around here keep in touch by other means nowadays.

All kinds of forums probably have a kind of a turnover in the members. People find a place like this, come to like it and make it their own, and after a few years they move on. It seems like what may have "killed" Halvsie is that the competition from other social media has stopped the influx of new members that is necessary to keep the forum alive.

Well, i kinda suspected something was wrong at the moment i signed up here. Way too little activity going on. It's sad really, because i always wanted to talk to other hapas. What i don't understand is that there should still be some need for this site, right? I mean how else are you gonna get in touch with other hapas that you do not know beforehand?

What i love about internet boards is that it's not tied to your name and FB account. Basically i can say wtf i want without having my name publicly tied to it. And that is something i value deeply. And i guess it's true what they say, that the site is dead. But through gravenight shifts i have learned a lot of halvsie discussions long since passed, and for that i sincerely thank you.

no... I d hate it if halvsie would "die"... its true that FB takes up more of our time... the thing is that the "older" halvsie, the very active ones, are very busy with real life..we dont have neough free time as before to post... but there is always someone coming back from time to time..

I made a section for hapas on reddit. http://reddit.com/r/hafu

Not to many people there yet. But it has total anonymity, and the added benifit of being to up/downvote posts. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

The long goodbye...... I guess I've moved all my "Halvsie" type action/nonsense on to Facebook. Where I recognise guys who stopped using Halvsie and migrated to Facebook or other forums about the time I joined Halvsies.....

I've enjoyed Halvsie and my time in here.....

It would be sad to say halvsie's dead...I'm not gonna say it, but it sure is quiet on here, not that I get on much anymore though. I'm like others, in that I'm working and doing my volunteer thing, and seem to go on facebook a lot more than I do on halvsie. I haven't forgotten it completely as I've made some great friendships on this site, thanks to Saren and all of you fine folks, and won't soon abandon the site!

I wanted to tell all of you to have a very Merry Christmas and an equally prosperous New Year!! Kampei!!!

Old geezer on the left coast of the US...ps: Hiya, Maeku, Tad, Matthew, Shimura Ken and Greenhorn!! So cool to see these names from here...been too long, and I'll just have to make time to get back on as much as possible.

I'm with 73bonneville, although there is little time to come to the forums, halvsie.com still has a special place in my heart. So screw that, as long as the website is still up I'll try my very best to come here every now and then.

I have been remiss in coming here. I was doing FB every day, and then quit as it was becoming an obsession. I do FB only once a week or so now.

Ok...... I guess the bad thing about Facebook.... is that it doesn't have easily navigible threads or categories as such, you can't add photos to a thread.....

I'd be happy if the FB group I'm in would migrate back to Halvsies..... I'm not the only one....

It's a little sad to see the forum in this state. I'm very grateful to have met so many cool people on this forum. Good times. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/joy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':joy:' />

Wow. R.I.P. is right. I just logged onto this site for the first time in 8 years... I used to be a very active member back when I was 16! I still remember posters like aya, maeku, and ucatbmyaddiction! I'm sad to see this site is dead now... since I left halvsie.com, I have graduated both high school and college, moved to Korea for two years, and am now a grad student back in the U.S. I hope everyone is well... wondering how you're doing^^
