500 men sign up for male-pregnancy project in China
Asian Economic News, May 27, 2002

HONG KONG, May 23 Kyodo

About 500 men have signed up to take part in China's first male-pregnancy project, a Hong Kong newspaper reported Thursday.

Only four men have been chosen as suitable candidates for the project, which has yet to be officially authorized, the plan's initiator Chen Huanran was quoted as saying by the Beijing-backed Wen Wei Po in Hong Kong.

Chen, a top sex-change surgeon in China, reportedly said there will be few problems for men to get pregnant technically. But he said men will have to experience more pain and risk physically and psychologically than women do in bearing a child.

Chen, who runs China's first sex-change center under the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, began planning the ''male mothers'' project in 2000 and has sought for participants in the program through the Internet since last November, the report said.

The report said participants will need 200,000 yuan (about $24,200) to pay their own operation fees.

Here's one about the recent death of the 'Russian Spy' in the UK...evidently, the puffer fish isn't the only deadly substance at one particular sushi bar in London.

Please note that I don't condone any of the findings of the following research..... twice as many men have an IQ over 120 than women....

http://education.independent.co.uk/highe...024763.ece

But the report has this to say.....

"There has to be some female compensating factor, most importantly the ability to process speech sounds, which means women read faster and more accurately and have an advantage in basic writing tasks. And women work harder than men and are more conscientious so they do things technic-ally correctly. Men are often quite original but deficient in what is technically demanded."

I like the bit "women read faster and more accurately ", well you girls have an advantage... you don't have to mouth the words......

Yeah, but you have to account for the difference in Man-IQs and Woman-IQs. Everyone knows that Man-IQs are only half the value of Woman-IQs.

Check this out.

Man with IQ of175 ends up drink driving and killing friend, severly injuring several others.

I suppose no amount of IQ prevents people from doing foolish things..

So sad, for everyone involved. What a wasted life for the guy...

^ I bet you she's going without proper sleep. It's amazing how many powerful people don't sleep enough. The course of our world is probably heavily influenced by the antics of a bunch of people whose behaviour is greatly fuelled by lack of sleep and all the accompanying changes in brain chemistry...

I was watching the Fujisankei news this morning, and they reported this:
http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20061204...00016-maip-soci

(Sorry, it's in Japanese only...)

I'm SO glad they FINALLY seem to have caught up with this bastard, and hope they punish him properly!! [Image: mad.gif]

Story is, I accidentally happened upon this pervert's website last year, pretty soon after I joined Halvsie.
I was actually image googling something completely benign, and ended up clicking on a certain picture which in itself wasn't particularly offensive (it was a young girl playing on a beach) - and ended up at this sicko's website.
It was SO wrong - tons of pictures of dead children (victims of murder as well as natural disasters like the Sumatra tsunami), with comments on how they died, how they "must have felt" - but in a REALLY perverted way, always with sexual undertones. Really horrible, and my husband and I were haunted by it for ages...and we're not exactly hypersensitive types.

I don't think I've ever come across anything quite this gross in my 10+ years on the web - it was the comments which were especially creepy and sickening. I immediately reported the site to various agencies including the Japanese police and Interpol, and didn't hear back except from one particular agency which told me there was nothing they could do because it "wasn't exactly child pornography" - WTF!?!?

And the thing is, the guy is an elementary school teacher. Scary.

Yeah, I saw one site in Japanese in which people were talking about how they had raped some kids. Don't know if it was fiction, but it didn't seem like it as they were using codes and discussing hiding IPs, but I reported it to the internet crime section of the Met police, but they told me that I should contact someone else as it's not really their 'area'.

Why shorter men were walking tall 4m years ago

Short men were irresistible to women until mankind’s ancestors learnt how to use tools as weapons, research suggests.

Being short made modern man’s predecessors more adept at fighting — with a lower centre of gravity and better balance — and guaranteed them huge sex appeal....

Apparently it's been the hottest year in the Northern Hemisphere for 125 years.....

Nothing to do with anthropogenic climate chage..... but that old favourite... ENSO. El Nino......

KMWjax interesting article.... there's being a spate of "gay-bashing" in the US media...
I understand that the US Army's most senior general has condemn the Don't Ask, Don't Ask policy for gays as immoral.
Whereas no doubt killing civilians by way of collateral damage is part and parcel of his day job...

I wonder if this evangical chap would consider the benefits of stem cell research to "cure" this abherration or may be terminations are in order when they detect a genetic predisposition to Judy Garland et al.

Here's one for discussion. I have no opinion since he's not from my country.

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba - An Australian who allegedly trained with al-Qaida and fought for the Taliban in Afghanistan pleaded guilty to providing material support to terrorism on Monday.

I can't believe that Naomi Campbell got paid for wearing designer gear before and after her community service!! [Image: ohmy.gif]

It makes total sense, all that media attention. Great exposure because of the number of people that would see her.

But the whole point of being punished is that you regret whatever crime you've done and it acts as a deterrent to others... [Image: dry.gif]
