It is pretty obvious but being a Halvsie in Japan always seems to make impacts, but for us living outside Japan: are you getting more recognition than others?
I thought of it when my friends and I were out one night in Sweden. We went outside for a smoke, and when we tried to get back in the doorman wouldn't let us. You see, the pub didn't start taking an entrance fee until after we arrived: thus neither of us had any stamps prooving that we had admittance.
Anyway, my friends were arguing with the doorman until he saw me, pointed at me and said: "I recognize you, are these your friends?"
This is an example of how people remember me among others, am I just making this up in my head or are you guys being recognized easier as well?

Hmmm, I don't know. If I'm remembered, I think it's because people see me all the time ... for example, one of the cashiers at one of the grocery stores I go to knows what brand and type of chocolate I like (because I always buy the same exact thing <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />). And the local coffee shops know exactly what I'm going to order. I guess I can be a bit predictable. When I like something, I get it all the time. Now I've strayed from the topic ...

I'm think I'm even less halvsie-looking than you are (and, yes, I DO think you look Japanese), although sometimes I think I look more Japanese as I get older. Maybe it's just me ...

Really? As I see it we 50/50 caucasian Halvsies have about the same ammount of Japanese characteristics in our appearence. It it just a matter of looking at details making the picture complete you know?

^ You should meet my brother then. He actually looks very European (Greek or Italian). He does not look very Japanese at all.

Is it because you are used to see him and don't notice or have other people said it?

Other people say it, too. You can see a hint of it in his eyes. Halvsies would probably pick up on it since we have excellent halvsie-dar.

@Shunkun: i totally agree with what you say!!! non-halvsie and non-japanese, do expect us to look completely Japanese ignoring the fact that as much Japanese we should look, just as much we should look like our other half!! i get really upset when i get the "but you dont look japanese" comment... i always reply (being a warm-clooded Greek as well): "of course not! why should I ?! I AM NOT Japanese . I am mixed! halvsie..haafu, etc
@ayuki: YR Brother looking Greek? hmm..interesting!then again..you and I do look alike a lot, ne?!
