I saw a lot of movies last week:

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring again - korean movie, was nice, but not wow

Van Helsing (worst movie ever seen)

Josie and the pussycats - was mama, had funny elements, but was a little long somehow

Finding Nemo - So great!!!! I loved it!

Treasure planet - was ok, but a little dull...also I didn't like the character animation

School of Rock .- had nice parts, but had higher expectations...

Royal Tenenbaums - liked it very much!

I still need to see 50 first dates and Troy as long as they're still running in the cinema in Germany, and I'm waiting desperately for Zatoichi to come out here!

LUCKY~!

How can you go so often??

My stupid parents say that movies are no educational so they wont pay for it therefore the cost has to come out of my pocket. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/evil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

For that reason I don't go to the cinema that often... <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

The last film I saw was "Troy" which wasn't a big hit for me. I don't even appreciate Brad Pitt

(although I think he was good in "Snatch"so he didn't compansate either.. Before that I saw

"Big Fish" which I liked.

My sister is such a movie freak and she goes to the cinema A LOT.

Sometimes she drags me with her, hehehe.. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laughlong.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':laugh2:' />

No, I really like going.
like no other

The last movie I saw was Troy as well.

I was entertained.

Pure eye candy...laughed a lot at how ridiculously good looking those people are. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/1eye.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':1eye:' />

I liked Big Fish too. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I go to the theater a lot (it's part of my job). There really isn't much out there right now besides "Shrek 2" which is GREAT! I've seen it twice already. Once w/my youngest and her friend and we took our brownie troop out to see if for our "end of the year" wrap up.

This weekend I saw Van Helsing which was awful. My husband dragged me to it. Although he admits it was bad, he enjoys the special effects (eye candy for him). It was pretty painful to sit through for me though!

I want to see "The Stepford Wives" w/Nicole Kidman, out on June 11th. I saw the original film which was very creepy. I hope this remake is good. Oh, and "The Terminal" w/Tom Hanks looks like it may be good.

Really, Debi? I thought that even the special effects were awful. It was way too much animated and worst of all was the Jekyll/Hyde at the beginning. That looked so cheap. But not a bit as bad as the acting... when Kate Beckinsale swung and caught the antidote and the look on her face... We were laughing at times, because it was SO ridiculous!

Marisuke: I only saw the Spring Summer... and Van Helsing in the cinema, the others I watched at home. But I go to the movies a lot, it's actually my favourite hobby, movies in generel, and it costs 5 euro in Germany (540 yen maybe?!) which is affordable.

When I watch japanese movies, I always have a good feeling, because I think it's educational, for I learn Japanese with it! <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />

Is it just Toronto that has very high prices to go to the cinema?

It is $ 8 ( which is probably $4 (US) & 200 en... <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) for the matinee shows and then

the prices go up to $13 at night. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/evil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

But I must say I paid the children's admission (which ends at 12) until I was 17 y/o! <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

actaully it can be even cheaper in some cinemas and I can get student discount, so it costs 4,50 in the large cinemas and in the small theatres, it's like 3 euro.

That's one thing I love about the movies so much...

Yuriko - actually he "heard" the special effects would be good and that's why we went but then saw how bad

it really was. Still he said it was like eye candy for him. Glad he got something out of it b/c I sure

didn't! <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Movies here are $9.25. Matinee prices are $6.75. I get to go for free. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I do performance checks (nothing to do w/movie reviews).

I am

not a huge fan of Hollywood, but... I did really enjoy Last Samurai, which we just rented a couple days ago. I

cried and cried in the last battle scene...

I saw a great, independent film called Station Agent a while

back, about 3 people who's lives cross at an old train station. It was excellent!
Thus, the task is not so much to see

what no one has yet seen,

but to think what nobody has yet thought

about that which everybody sees

Couldn't agree more.

Both those who haven't seen Troy, and especially those who have, should read this

It's way too funny.

I like the popcorn that they serve at the cinema. Very fattening, but it smells nice... sorry on a 1500 calorie/day diet so a little hungry. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

AH! Me too! <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/drool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> But popcorn costs as much as the movie itself! So I almost never byuy it. I don't buy drinks at the movies, neither! I'm so avaricious! <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I had popcorn last week, though!

Unfortunately it was sweet, but it was still alright. Usually I only eat salty popcorn...

If you have kids you can check movies at:

I should have checked this before taking my daughter to "Mean Girls". Afterwards she asked me what "rubbers" and "dyke" meant. <img src='http://www.halvsie.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
